I wrote this guide to aphantasia because I needed it as a teacher and as a parent. It is a living document. As I learn and grow it grows and changes with me. I'm calling it 90% done :)

**Update to paper**

For the 2025–26 school year, 10% of my students had full aphantasia and another 12% had visualization ability low enough to impact their education. Combined, that's 1 in every 5 students.

Full aphantasia corresponds to a score of 1 on the Red Square Test shown in the guide. The 12% scored a 2 or 3.
